Jan 27, 2012, day 47

We're approaching the half way mark for our trip. Five more days in Arizona, then off to New Zealand. We are starting to think about packing, reducing what we take, leaving warmer clothes to pick up on return. Trying to keep the excitement at bay! Our last day yesterday with Karen and Mal was fun. We golfed at Old London in 75F; later, for our entertainment, Geoff took a dip in the unheated pool--(Speakers on? Click HERE).

Before dinner we walked the main drag looking at all the old classic cars reconditioned with immaculate body work, paint jobs and custom interiors; then drove across the London Bridge to "the island" to see what was there. Not much, as it turns out. Back to the house for great meal of Geoff's famous burgers, followed by a last game of 3-13.

On the golf course we were playing in teams for points for the card game. Geoff was my partner and made a side bet with me that if we won, the low net between us would take all 10 points. Bet taken and won! Won also at cards...am I gloating again? Could be but it happens so infrequently!

Karen and Mal are on the road to Desert Hot Springs to stay with another couple for a few days until Hemet is available for them. We had a great visit and look forward to seeing them st the end of the trip.

The house seems a little quieter today. So glad that our friends could come stay!
