Mesquite Mal
Karen, Mal and Jock arrived on Jan 23rd and brought with them the first rain drops in 43 days! It was only a little spitting, however, and didn't interfere with our day at all. Next day sunny and windy for our game at Emerald Canyon. It was probably the wind that sent not one but two of Mal's balls into the mesquite trees. What talent! After we found the first one, he looked above ground when he couldn't find the second, and sure enough, there it was wedged in the thorny branches. Emerald Canyon can be pretty daunting and even harder for Mesquite Mal!
Today we hit London Bridge course and trust that the MacPhails have a better time of it. It is fairly windy though. Now that I think about it, I should shut up because I put a ball in the crown of a very high palm the other day!
Jock has been wonderful, as usual. Such a good little dog he is!
We started our marathon 3-13 card game last night and will keep a running tab through this week and during our visit in Hemet. Same guy who always wins was winning last night...lots of fun!
Hold the phone...Geoff did NOT win tonight! No indeed! After setting the bet in golf--the winning pair had 10 points to allot to the card game--Mal and Terry won and split the points evenly. Then in cards, Terry cleaned Geoff's clock, leaving him with a hand worth 64 points against him to move ahead into first place. Ha!!!!! The best part of all was that he dealt the hand! So for the first time in the history of playing 3-13 with Geoff, Terry wins!!! Photo-proof, Ricky!
So this is what retirement looks like! Sun, golf, sight-seeing, good friends, food and wine! Fun!
