Jan 21
This our 41st day away from home and we have not yet seen a drop of rain. Looked a bit iffy this morning as a high wind had blown up over night and drawn a dark cloud onto gent with it. Still windy but temp is up to 74. Unfortunate timing for Havasu as this weekend is their annual hot air balloon festival. We've seen many in the air but none today.
They cannot fly in anything over a 5mph wind; this one is up to 23mph. Not good for golf either. We are hoping it will pass by tomorrow.
Geoff seems to have mostly recovered from his 2 days of illness. No food since Wednesday and not much to drink either. The only good news is that it's a good enforced short term diet. Thought we might be visiting a doc today.
Karen and Mal delayed their departure for a day due to the harsh winter conditions at home. We will be seeing them Monday around dinner time, we expect. After their visit, we begin the countdown to New Zealand!
Sunday Note: Today Terry has come down with an ailing body - I hope for her sake it isn't anything like what I went through! I had a bowl of Cheerios this morning and a tomato sandwich for lunch - first solid food since Wednesday. Be sure to look at the new photos on our Flickr site - some good one of the Balloon Mass Ascension this morning.
