New Year's Eve, 2011

Started the day with a nearly 10 km walk with Geoff.  No slacking on these walks, you've got to keep up the pace or be left behind!  Later, set out to explore the old town, starting with lunch.  I insisted that we sit in the sun, which is how we ended up in a new Mexican place, baking on the patio.  I wanted a salad but seeing none on the menu, went for the next thing that seemed to be comprised mostly of vegetables.  The waiter appeared with a paper tray of nacho-like chips covered with unusual ingredients.  It was only after the boys had chowed down that we realized that was actually my lunch and not a house provided appie!

After an afternoon nap, went to our last movie:  "A Dangerous Method", the story of the feud  between Jung and Freud and the unprofessional relationship between the former and one of his patients.  Not exactly mellow but again, an interesting flick.  Keira Knightly's performance as a mad woman will likely win her some nods.

Later in the evening, we headed to FnB (Food and Beverages) for a wonderful dinner, Ken's treat.  Started with a seafood salad (nearly enough for dinner), followed by an entree of duck and sausage cassoulet, with some kind of interesting beans and wonderful crackling things inside--a veritable circus in your mouth, then a salad/cheese dish like none other!  Fabulous!  For dessert we had 3 choices, so we took one of each and shared chocolate bread pudding, caramel pudding, and apple tart.  Lovely wine to go with it all. Thank you, Ken!

Rowdy college crowds in the town and across the hall but all in all, a wonderful evening.
Our happy go lucky Ken!

Geoff dotes on Terry!
